Pregnancy questions & bump (28 weeks)

This week has been a bit of a blur & I don’t feel like I’ve done anything outstanding, but I do feel really very pregnant. I feel: uncomfortable, heavy, clumsy, and utterly exhausted. Usually if I felt just one of those things I’d be complaining, a lot, but I’m perfectly happy and content: It’s almost as if all of the niggles make the pregnancy more real.
Yesterday was the first day of my third trimester which is both exciting and terrifying – we’re going to start buying the majority of the items we’ll need for ‘little one’ in the next few weeks, so I will be posting blogs showing you what we’ve got. I love that I can share our journey with you & wether it’s just curiosity, bringing back memories, or comparing your own pregnancy that makes you decide to read : I hope that you find these posts interesting & I’d love to hear your stories.
How far along? 28 weeks 1 day
Waist measurement: 35.5 inches (same as last week)
Measurement at belly button: 38 inches (same as last week)
Maternity clothes: Nope, but I’m going bra shopping tomorrow (thank goodness) and I may cave in and buy some maternity jeans while I’m at it.
Stretch marks? None, which may be down to the lack of inch gain. But I’m now in my third trimester which means things go pretty crazy from here on out.
Sleep: What’s that?
Best moment this week: We received our contract through for our house. Somehow that made it all so much more real.
Miss anything? Tummy sleeping. I miss  it so much, side sleeping is not for me.
Movement: Little & often, mostly in the evenings. Baby kicks me in the ribs now, mum says it’s karma for how often I used to do it to her.
Food cravings: I craved mellon. Sort of. It wasn’t an overwhelming need, but i did enjoy it all the same.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not unless you count George’s curry farts. ha.
Gender: Either a boy or girl I hope… (running out of new answers here)
Labour signs: Nada.
Symptoms: The worlds worst RIB PAIN. On my right side, it is becoming unbearable & apparently will not subside until birth. No sleep for me then.
Belly button in or out? It’s still a funny in-between, I have decided that I will only count it as an outie when I can see it through my t-shirt.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but exhausted.
Looking forward to: Being able to “nest” properly. This won’t be for a while, but I can’t help but look forward to it anyway. It’s been odd having nesting instincts but no place to nest.

Pregnancy Questions & Bump (27 Weeks)

I posted this not long after I woke up this morning & the bump shots are literally JUST after I rolled out of bed, so apologies in advance for bed hair, bed face, sleepy typing mistakes. The maternity top is from Debenhams as part of their “Red Herring Maternity” collection, I don’t think they’re selling it at the moment so I couldn’t include a direct link, but here’s a link to their full range:
How far along? 27 weeks exactly
Waist measurement: 35.5 inches
Measurement at belly button: 38 inches
Maternity clothes: I got my first maternity T-shirt for Christmas from my lovely Aunt & Uncle. It’s lovely & I’ve worn it a few times already, but I still haven’t bought anything for myself.
Stretch marks? No, but the skin on my tummy is a little itchy which can sometimes precede stretch marks – so I’m being a bit more liberal with adding moisture.
Sleep: Waking up about 3 times a night at the moment & my hips are really hurting from side sleeping which is not cool. But hey-ho.
Best moment this week: Baby FINALLY kicked my dad (that seems like such a funny thing to be excited by) & of corse the entirety of Christmas was amazing, had such a lovely time.
Miss anything? My gums have been a bit “bleedy” & I don’t like that at all, I do miss that not happening & I’m looking forward to it subsiding.
Movement: Lots again & I’m not even a little bit bored of it. 🙂
Food cravings: No. I’m so boring.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No smells or tastes, but I really truly HATE the sound of people eating & lip smacking & the cat cleaning. They all make me heave (stupid acute sense of hearing)
Gender: Well this week both George and I were saying that we think that it’s going to be a boy. I wasn’t sure if I should post that in case baby is a girl, but we change what we think all the time & that’s half the fun of not knowing.
Labour signs: Nope, but I do keep dreaming about giving birth.
Symptoms: Tiredness due to not sleeping well & “bleedy” gums.
Belly button in or out? In, most of the time – it’s sort of inline with my tummy as I’m typing this..
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, very happy this week. Christmas ensured that.
Looking forward to: Car seat shopping – a little bit lame BUT I haven’t been shopping for donkeys years, so I’ll take car seat shopping over nothing. Oh and I suppose seeing in the New Years might be a little bit exciting too.

Pregnancy Questions (26 Weeks)

I’m aiming to do one of these with a bump shot every Sunday, as that’s when it’s “week” + zero days, but as I posted one as my first blog a few days back & there really hasn’t been any change in bump size what so ever I’m not going to include a bump shot with this one. However there is a snap of baby’s first bear, which I think is much cooler..
How far along? 26 Weeks exactly
Maternity clothes: Nope, still none, but my favourite item of clothing is my H&M skater dress, which unfortunately they don’t sell at the moment, but is very similar to Top Shop’s Flippy Maternity Dresses. It’s the perfect shape for a growing bump & I would absolutely buy it if I didn’t already have my H&M one in a few colours.
Stretch marks? Nothing new to report on this either.
Sleep: Has been pretty hit and miss this week. It took me a good few hours to get comfortable last night & I woke up a few times thanks to the wind outside & my overly sensitive hearing (it’s not proven to be a blessing just yet.)
Best moment this week: Mum bought baby it’s first bear while on a shopping trip, it’s adorable. I’m planning on taking a photo with it sitting on bump at some point, I thought that might be a nice image for the books. The Bear is a “Pudge Dangle Bear” from Air Puppy.
Miss anything? I would like to be able to dye my hair. I can’t say that’s it’s something I miss, but I am finding it inconvenient that I can’t because it’s looking very brassy & I would prefer to have nice locks for the Christmas photos… never mind hey?
Movement: Still lots, but my dad is yet to feel any. Every time I call him over when baby’s having a moment it stops, the same thing happened with mum initially. It’s an odd one.
Food cravings: No pregnancy cravings, but I am really looking forward to all the Christmas food YAY.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Mince, but that’s been the case for the past few years.
Gender: Still no clue, I wonder if I have to include this question every week. Surely there’s never been a pregnancy where it changes that often…
Labour signs: No, thank goodness.
Symptoms: Dry eyes, I hear this is quite common, especially as I wear contact lenses. It’s not unbearable but it has meant that I’ve been wearing my glasses more often that usual.
Belly button in or out? In, though it popped out after my curry the other night. too much korma.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, I’ve had one or two tiny freak outs, but I’d actually put that down to Christmas nerves & not hormones.
Looking forward to: Christmas!!! Everything starts today with the festivities, I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Winterlicious TAG

Although this tag is traditionally a YouTube tag I figured I could use it on this blog. I spend a good amount of time browsing YouTube so I thought it would be rude not to… (links to all the products mentioned are at the end)

Favourite winter nail polish? This is such a difficult question, becauseeeeee I trapped my thumb in my Aunt Vals car door a few months back and I only have a half nail there now, after the other one fell off, and because of that I’ve been avoiding nail polish all together. But I know what I would be wearing and it would be RockStar nails (full on glitter) or I would be wearing a deep plum colour like Jessica: Cinderella Red.

Favourite winter lip product? Honestly, just  a good lip balm. I love The Body Shop’s: Hemp Lip Protector. Yum.

Favourite winter scent? As far as perfume goes, I’m in love with Marc Jacobs: Dot. but I don’t own that YET, so I’m going to go a completely different route and say the smell of Gingerbread, real, not candle scent. Though I love a good scented candle.

Favourite winter beverage? Julmust. It’s a Swedish non-alcohoic root-beer drink. Not many British people like the flavour, but it’s a firm favourite in our household.

All time favourite Holiday movie? Maybe Love Actually, but truth be told, I’m not a massive fan of films made just watching at one time of the year.

Favourite Christmas song? So this is Christmas.

Favourite Holiday food/treat? Favourite food in General would be Gravad Lax (salt, pepper, sugar and dill cured Salmon) on Christmas Bread, and Favourite treat would be homemade Gingerbread.

Favourite Christmas decoration this year? A Georg Jensen Christmas Ornament that my mum received from her parents. It’s stunning.

What’s at the top of your Christmas list? I actually know everything I’m getting this year, I prefer giving gifts to receiving, and I know I’m super difficult to buy for, so I tend to end up giving everyone a list. My most wanted item is Marc Jacobs: Dot perfume though, and I think I might be buying that one myself… funny how things work out.

What are your plans for the Holiday? Christmas drinks (non-alcoholic for me) on the 23rd, Swedish Christmas on Christmas Eve, I’m roasting Duck for my family Christmas Lunch, and George and I are joining his family for Christmas Dinner in the evening. SO MUCH FOOD!

Most worn winter accessory? My Celtic Sheepskin: Toscana Headband.

Most worn winter piece? Now here’s the sad truth: I’ve probably worn my Christmas Onsie more than any other item I own.

Pregnancy Questions & Bump (25 Weeks)

How far along? 25 Weeks 4 Days
Maternity clothes: I’m still wearing any and everything I already own and can fit in to. I might not look the best, but I’m saving money.
Stretch marks? Nothing on my tummy, but I got stretch marks on my breasts pretty early on, but honestly I barely notice them.
Sleep: I’m a tummy-sleeper, or was before I got pregnant, so getting comfortable is still a bit difficult.
Best moment this week: Picking up our friends old baby bouncer, travel cot & baby bath. Seeing any items for baby makes it all that much more real.
Miss anything? Not having to put a bra on straight after getting out of bed.
Movement: Lots of movement this week, it’s been lovely. George woke up after being kicked a few times and I’m sure baby has had hiccups too.
Food cravings: Nope, nothing what so ever.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Mushrooms.
Gender: Unsure, we want a surprise. I think.
Labour signs: None.
Symptoms: Itchy skin, and dizzy spells. I’ve also been hungry more often, but considering how long my morning sickness lasted – I do not mind at all.
Belly button in or out? In, just about.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy more often than moody, but sometimes both within seconds.
Looking forward to: Christmas, can you believe it’s less than a week?! CRAZY
